Booker
A booker is employed by the model agency and works as the intermediary between the model and the client.


Booking
If it is confirmed that the client wishes to book you and you are available, you will be notified by the booker and receive all the relevant information about the job. If you agree to take the job, the appointment is confirmed and you are no longer available for any other bookings.


bMCB
Galucci is a member of the bMCB industry association (the Dutch modelling and talent agency industry association) which promotes the interests of models and its member agencies. Membership of the bMCB is a hallmark that certifies the credibility of our agency. For further information, see the bMCB website at: www.bmcb.nl


Callback
If a client has noticed you during a casting and thinks you may be suitable for the job, it is possible that you and several other models will have to return for a second casting. We refer to this as a callback. The callback serves as an opportunity for the client to finalize their decision. Hopefully the client will choose you!
You do not get paid for a casting or for a callback. The chance of being offered the job is, of course, much bigger at a callback.


Casting
A casting is an introduction between the client and the different models. The client will decide after the casting which models they would like to select. You do not receive payment for a casting.


Casting agency
A casting agency finds suitable actors and actresses for roles in films, stage productions, and television.


Fashion model
A fashion model has the perfect measurements and look that appeals to designers, and is suitable for jobs in front of the camera or on the catwalk. A fashion model will most often work in the fashion industry and travel internationally for jobs.


Personal information
Your personal information must be kept up to date and be submitted to the model agency. Please inform us of any changes to your address or contact details. You should also notify us if there have been changes in your measurements, if you have made any significant changes to your appearance, or if you have a scar.


Fair-weather bookings
A client can book a model with a fair-weather booking. This means that the model is on standby for an agreed upon period of time. Weather permitting, the booking will go ahead. If bad weather conditions persist, the client can cancel the model without charge up to three times. Cancellations can occur up to a few hours before a booking is due to take place.


Go-sees
Galucci will make an appointment for you to introduce yourself to a client and present your portfolio.


Hair stylist
The hair stylist is responsible for ensuring that your hair looks fantastic.

Clothing
As soon as Galucci is informed by the client about what type of clothing you need to bring with you, we will pass on that information to you. Always ensure that your clothes and shoes look neat, clean, and presentable. Please let us know if you do not have the required item of clothing and if you cannot borrow it elsewhere. We will look for a solution together. We advise that you take multiple items of clothing, footwear, and accessories with you. It's better to have too many choices than too few!


Lookalike
A lookalike is a person who closely resembles a celebrity in terms of appearance, characteristics, and movement.


Make-up
We will let you know how your hair and make-up should look before you go to a job. If you have to do your own make-up, please make sure that you have all the necessary items.


Model agency
A model agency arranges models for advertising and fashion photography.


Jobs
You are your own calling card but you also represent Galucci.
Please be aware of the following when you are on a photo shoot or on set:

• Never bring friends to the set as this is unprofessional and may be disrupting to others.
• Never speak to clients or other models about money. This is considered unprofessional as well.
• Please call us immediately if something does not seem or feel right.
• Do no sign anything that has not been agreed upon with Galucci.
• Carefully listen to and follow the instructions given by the photographer or director.

You will be informed beforehand of the duration of a job. Take note that a job can often take much longer than planned. Therefore, it is important that you do not schedule any appointments immediately after a job.


Option
If the client is unsure about whether or not they would like to book you, they might place you on option. This means that you do not know for sure whether you have the job or not. It is likely that you will only be informed of this the day before the job.


Presentation materials/portfolio
In order to present you to our clients in the best way possible, we need you to have good presentation materials: a portfolio. This portfolio needs to contain professional photographs and a description of your appearance and your measurements. Please ensure that your personal profile is up to date and inform us of any changes to your appearance. Ensuring that your portfolio is an honest and accurate representation of yourself will improve your chances of getting the job.


Commission
All models, make-up artists, and stylists pay a 20% commission on the fees. When you are paid your fee, this commission has already been deducted. Galucci pays its models within eight weeks after the date of the job.


Travelling expenses
Travelling expenses from Maastricht are reimbursed. Different agreements regarding this may be made in consultation between Galucci and the client.


Request
When a model is invited to a casting based on their portfolio.


Composite cards
Once you have put together your portfolio, composite cards can be made for you. These can be compared to business cards but in A5-sized format. On the front of your composite card is a close-up photograph and on the back there will be several smaller photographs and your measurements. We also make digital composite cards that can be sent electronically to tablets and smartphones.


Special model
This model does not meet the standard requirements of a fashion model but does have something 'special' and a great look. A special model is used for advertising jobs but does not do fashion-related work.


Stylist
This person selects the clothing, footwear, and accessories for a job. The stylist will work with the photographer or advertising agency to create the mood/tone of the shoot.


Tear sheets
A tear sheet is a print of the photographs that have been published in a magazine and serve as proof of completed jobs.


Appearance
Please ensure that you always look well-groomed when going to a job. Keep a natural look (do not visit the hairdresser the day before a job for example), and make sure that your nails are manicured and natural. You only get one chance to make a first impression.


Make-up artist
The make-up artists is responsible for making you look great. This individual ensures great make-up for photography or film.


Website
Galucci has an online model database that presents all our models by means of a search engine. A client can see what Galucci has to offer in a matter of moments.


Always be on time!
If you have been booked for a job, always make sure that you arrive well ahead of time! Plan your travelling arrangements ahead of time. For travel information you can always look on 9292.nl/en (the website for the travel schedules of Dutch public transport) or consult the websites of one of the route planners. Always make sure that you have our number and that of the client with you when going to a job. If you do happen to be unexpectedly delayed, please let us know.
